Dog Groomer Program
Learn the fundamental skills of pet grooming. Classes will go over the automony of mulitiple breeds. You will recognize how to groom poodles, mixed breeds, drop-coat syles, and puppies.
Cat Groomer Program
Includes identifying characteristics common to a cat’s personality and understanding how to properly handle each type of cat. Learn to handle short and long hair full coat grooms and variety of lion cut and face trims.

I have been a proud dog and cat groomer for just shy of 10 years. I have my AKC safe groomer certificate, and I pride myself in making our furbabies look and feel they’re best! At home I have my own furbaby family of dogs and cats and try to strive every day to learn better ways to train and make sure that every kiddo in my care is as healthy and happy as possible.

Pet Grooming School FAQ
The average pet groomer that completes our training program earns a salary of $60,000. Salaries increase as pet groomers become more experienced and job growth is expected to increase in Colorado much faster in the next few years.
Within 6-8 weeks students will learn the fundamental skills of pet grooming. This includes, specific dog breed haircuts, skin & coat care, handling skills, bath & brushing, disease recognition, and nail care.
Prior to receiving a certificate, students will have groomed 40 dogs and received the tools needed to be successful at any grooming salon in Colorado.
Completion various by course and by student. On average, our beginner courses take 6-8 weeks to complete.
No. At Colorado Pet Grooming Academy we believe that to be a successful dog groomer one must have hands on experience. You will work with a series of dogs in our training programs, so you can assure that you receive the skills to groom various coats. Our programs are created to be done at your own pace and offer flexibility for our students.
